The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) publishes data relating to oil and gas wells throughout the state. The map above is showing only wells marked as horizontally drilled. According to the data, 1,723 wells are included in this map. There are a wide variety of well types included in this map layer, including injection wells and storage wells. Please reference the legend for the complete list.

Also shown on this map is the general subsurface path of horizontal wells in MI: a total of 1,717 lines.
